Rev. Gretchen is originally from south Texas, but has called many places home. She most recently moved to the Detroit area from New York’s Hudson Valley. She is a mother to three wonderful teachers and joys, Lily, Hope, and Nathan, and friend and partner to Ben, who recently took a call as pastor to Northbrook Presbyterian Church. While mothering full time, she also served as parish associate at First Presbyterian Church in Beacon, preaching occasionally and helping to make worship a place where children and families were welcome and included.
Gretchen began dabbling in designing clergy stoles and church banners in recent years and loves to sew a rainbow. You can see her creations on Etsy and Instagram at newlifestolesandmore. One of her passions is growing things, and she loves planting seeds and building soil, hoping to fill every corner with food and flowers. She will begin her position as Parish Associate for CE during Advent so let’s give Gretchen a warm and inviting welcome.
