Donations Needed
You may have been wondering what is going on with SOS this year.
Obviously, we will not be hosting SOS at Greenfield due to COVID. So, how are our SOS guests being cared for? And how can we help?

2020
As you may know, Greenfield was the last church to host SOS, just as the pandemic hit and lockdown went into effect last March. We ended our week earlier than usual, on that Friday, and finished by providing meals to the SOS facility, until the last Sunday morning. We also donated our leftover toiletries and toiletry bags.
2021
SOS is now partnering with Lighthouse of Oakland County. Last March, at the beginning of the lockdown, they stopped the church rotation schedule due to COVID, and the guests were housed at the Lighthouse offices in Pontiac. As time went on, SOS/Lighthouse started sheltering guests in local hotels, and providing services and meals at those sites. Currently, they are housing an average of 85 guests in this way!
Welcome Baskets
The Mission Committee and SOS Team reviewed SOSs greatest needs lists, and how to involve volunteers safely with social distancing. We decided to assemble welcome baskets to help families/individuals who are placed into temporary housing by SOS. We’ll call them Housewarming Baskets, and will have a donation drive to collect various items.
How to Donate
You can bring your donations to the church on Sunday, March 7 from 1 pm to 3 pm, and we will take them from your trunk. We can also pick up items from your home if that would work better for you.
The Mission Committee and SOS Team are so grateful for your ongoing support of SOS. It’s so different this year, with not being able to host our guests in our church home. However, we are still able to be the church to those in need.

NEW:
Bedroom: XL Twin sheets, pillowcases, pillows, comforters.
Kitchen: silverware sets, drink ware and dish sets (Corelle preferred), dish towels/cloth, dish rack/dish soap, coffee filters and coffee.
Bath: Bathroom towels/hand towels/washcloths, shampoo/conditioner/baby wash/deodorant.
Cleaning: multi-surface cleaner/glass cleaner, toilet brush/toilet cleaner.
Diapers: size newborn, size 1 and size 2.
Slightly Used :
Kitchen: Microwave (20”), toaster, coffee maker.
